PuttMark

PRIVACY POLICY · OCTOBER 18, 2026

Your practice stays with you.

PuttMark is a manual log for disc golf putting practice on Android and iOS. This policy covers the PuttMark app (com.mjun.puttmark) and these support and privacy pages. The developer is Slow Turtle, displayed on Google Play as MJ CHOI and on the App Store as MOONJUN CHOI. Contact cmoonjun11@gmail.com for support or privacy questions.

Local practice records

Your practice dates, entered distances and units, putter counts, makes, sets, session status and creation/edit times stay in the app’s private database on your device. PuttMark does not provide an account, login, practice server or cloud sync. It does not detect throws, use GPS, take photos or provide coaching. Theme, haptics and optional-analytics choices are stored locally. Google manages its own advertising choices through its consent SDK.

Backups, exports and deletion

You can export sets as CSV and save the complete practice history and distance settings as JSON. The Android or iOS system file picker lets you choose the storage provider. PuttMark JSON v1 backups are compatible across the two platforms. These files are not encrypted by PuttMark. A storage provider you choose may use its own cloud service and terms. PuttMark does not automatically upload or synchronize a backup.

There is no automatic backup of practice records. Uninstalling the app, losing your device or replacing it without a saved JSON backup can lose local records. Restoring JSON replaces current practice records after a preview and confirmation; it does not merge them. Theme, haptics and privacy choices are preserved.

Use Delete all practice data in Settings (under Backup & data on Android) to remove local practices, sets and distance settings after confirmation. You can also delete individual practices and correct or delete sets. Deleting app records does not delete files you previously exported. Manage those files at their chosen location. We cannot recover your practice records from a server.

Google advertising

PuttMark includes Google Mobile Ads and the User Messaging Platform (UMP). Banners may appear on saved summaries and history, subject to screen, frequency and consent limits. Set entry, setup, editing, backup and settings screens do not show ads. Practice works when ads fail or the device is offline.

Google’s advertising SDK can collect and share IP addresses, product interactions, diagnostic information and device/account identifiers for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. IP addresses can be used to infer general location. Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Local practice scores, distances, dates, IDs and file contents are not added to ad requests by PuttMark. See Google Mobile Ads data disclosure for Android and iOS and Google’s privacy policy.

UMP checks which privacy messages and options are needed. Where available, use Settings → Privacy & ads → Advertising privacy options on Android, or Settings → Privacy and ad choices → Ad privacy options on iOS, to review your choices. If the check fails, the app offers retry and keeps practice available. Declining personalized advertising can still permit limited ads; the app follows the SDK’s current permission to request ads.

On iOS, PuttMark requests non-personalized advertising, disables publisher first-party identifiers, and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission. It does not request access to the advertising identifier. This does not mean Google receives no device or app data; the advertising processing described above can still occur when the SDK permits ad requests.

Optional usage analytics

Firebase / Google Analytics is off by default. It starts only after you choose to enable optional usage analytics and confirm the separate explanation, or restore a previously valid explicit choice on the same installation. This choice is separate from advertising processing.

When enabled, Analytics receives fixed feature-use events and error categories, along with SDK-generated app/device information, app-instance identifiers and automatic events. The SDK can derive general geography from network information. PuttMark’s custom event parameters do not include scores, made/attempt counts, distances, practice dates, practice IDs, filenames, file locations or backup contents. The app does not set a user ID. Analytics advertising-ID collection and ad personalization signals are disabled in the app configuration.

Turning optional analytics off stops further analytics collection and resets local SDK analytics data. Pre-opt-in app activity is not queued to send later. If saving a choice or cleanup fails, the app reports it and offers retry; do not treat a failed operation as a saved choice. Turning analytics off or deleting local practice records does not promise immediate removal of data already received by Google. Provider retention and deletion controls apply to that information. See Firebase privacy information and Google Analytics privacy information.

Support correspondence

The support action opens your email app with PuttMark’s name/version and operating-system version. You review the draft and choose whether to send it. Practice records and backup files are not automatically attached. If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you include, to handle your request. Send only the issue, expected behavior and reproduction steps; avoid passwords, credentials and complete backup files.

We keep correspondence as needed to respond and meet applicable requirements. You can ask about or request deletion of support correspondence by emailing cmoonjun11@gmail.com. Any required retention will be considered when handling the request.

These pages and service providers

These pages use Firebase Hosting. We add no web analytics scripts, tracking scripts or submission forms. Google may process technical connection information, including IP addresses and request details, to provide and protect hosting under its terms. Google services can process information internationally; see their linked privacy information. This is separate from your local practice records and optional app analytics.

Adults and changes

PuttMark is intended for adult hobby disc golfers aged 18 and over. It does not verify age or ask users to create an account. Contact us with concerns about a child’s information sent to support. We update this page’s date when the policy changes.
